How can living spaces exist in harmony with the natural environment? Can interiors frame the landscape? This housing project aims to explore these ideas by integrating architecture with the landscape and coexisting as one.
Nestled near the famous ski resort in Brezovicë, Villa AFR seeks to create spaces that frame the landscape as a canvas for sustainable living. Accommodating a family of approximately 5 people, it is composed of two floors with a total surface of 100m2. In terms of functional composition, it owns two bedrooms, three bathrooms, storage and utility spaces, a kitchen aligned to a spatious living room as well as a large terrace facing the garden area. To create a closer relation with the landscape, a characteristic loft/gallery is designed in the living room area, also introducing magnificent views towards the nature outside. With its humble wooden facade, this retreat harmonizes with nature, blending seamlessly into the picturesque surroundings of the Sharr mountains in Kosovo. Inside, thoughtful design principles prioritize spacious, minimal, and contemporary approaches while fostering a deep connection with the environment. Cozy living spaces offer panoramic mountain views. Sustainable features, such as passive solar design and locally sourced materials, underscore the villa's commitment to eco-conscious living.
